Fig and Olive, Sunway Pyramid

Last Sunday I went for a sisters' day out with lil sis. Since both of us didn't have breakfast we decided to have an early lunch..brunch that is.I though of just having some roti bakar with coffee first and maybe have lunch a little later. Pyramid is way too big now and they have many kopitiams..Papparich, Georgetown White Coffee and some other place. We went in all 3 tapi tak jadi beli apa-apa. Most kopitiams are more or less the same nowadays..kalau ada Uncle Lim's for sure dah masuk dah. Papparich tak berapa minat sangat after I tried it twice at Sek 13 here. I find the price is a tad expensive but tastewise a bit on the downside. The drinks are yummy but nasi lemak memang fail.

So anyway, jalan punya jalan..we initially wanted to eat at Chicken Rice Shop (I'm quite a fan of this joint) and then changed our minds when we saw this resto called Fig and Olive. Lil sis said she tried the place (she had spaghetti of some sort) before and was quite all right. I was all into the new place sebab nampak macam best.

There was a whole array of food and of course all of  them had some form of olive in them..they had lamb something, chicken with rice, seafood platter which looked oh-so-yummy and the list goes on!..but we only ordered 2 mugs of cafe latte at RM5.50 each and a starter (something like triplePlay at Chilis) priced at RM28.90. The starter had brushchettas, baguette with chicken ham slices and cheese, chicken drummets, fish fingers (fresh and no fishy taste) and coleslaw served with mayo and lemon.

One thing that sort of gave me a scary feeling that the place was going to be no good was when I saw the lady making the lattes, threw away one that she had prepared and did a new one. Bad sign..bad sign. Mesti tak sedap latte dia..the lattes came, looked so-so tapi the taste was ok.

Verdict : so-so. Maybe the mains would be better because they all looked so yummy in the menu so can give it a second try.

If you want to give it a try, it's located at the opposite of Chicken Rice Shop, same row as Georgetown White Coffee if I'm not mistaken. Can't remember which floor though.
Clockwise: coleslaw, brushchetta (lazy to google correct spelling..baguette and tomatoes),  baguette topped with chicken ham and cheese,  chicken drummet, fish fingers.

Yes, it looks nice..tapi bila makan, biasa-biasa aje rasanya. Next time nak try nasi olive with chicken ke lamb dia..maybe that will be nicer. :)
