well..hello hello!

hello there earthlings! i have not been quite disciplined now have i? i've been going MIA recently and there is no reason to it.. only laziness.. with the capital L! :)

a lot have been going on lately.. we've moved into our new home .. (yeay!).. and managed to make it our own comfortable place to stay, bit by bit. You see, we don't have a lot of moolahs to start at a new place, and to even spend on lavish deco, not yet..and this house still in fact belongs to the bank, because we do still owe the bank a BOMB! and we're paying bit by bit.. slowly but surely, we'll get there.

okay, so have been trying to upload the pictures in here for a good few minutes and i dont see it working. this means i would have to resize them which means it is something that i will procrastinate and not do now..haha.. lazy bum me..

anyhow, we'll get to the house pictures sooner if not later :)

till then, have a good puasa month..take care of what you eat :)

And so what did I do on my last weekend here?

As usual not much. I had ice cream because I had this sudden craving for it. No, one schmall lil scoop won't be enough for me..no, no, no.. I just had to have the big one. Greedy monster me!

Before we start on our ice cream expedition, let me introduce you to Chandler. Err, he really does not look like the oh-so-famous Chandler Bing that we all know and love (let's just stick to know..I prefer Joey's character..hehe).

Gulp! What a catch!
Hey hey..the competitor is just right across the street! Ben & Jerry's, sorry, you don't have a place to sit so I had to go with HD.

My day is not perfect without a cup of coffee, whatmore during a cold Saturday afternoon.
Coffee and vanilla flavoured ice cream. Loved the coffee, so-so on the vanilla. I knew this already but I keep making/ordering the same ol flavour. Why o why???
Ta-daa! The virgin ice cream served in a sweet waffle cone.

All in all it was a pleasant Saturday. After the ice cream and people watching expedition, I went home, relaxed and got myself ready for the farewell dinner. I love Saturdays. Who doesn't?

To sum it all up...

Pretty pink roses :)
A beautiful bouquet of roses and champagne were presented to all who were in the Annual Dinner committee. The champagne? I gave it to my colleagues.. (psstt.. it would've been better if I had chocolates no?hehehe)
Body cream, and EDP and a shower gel..things that I like! Thank you!
The prezzie, a kit of Crabtree & Evelyn goodness that I got from my friends. Nice huh?
A Singaporean restaurant..the food was just so-so. Name of the place : Shiok!
Food was not super shiok though. Too bad.
This funny sort of inappropriate painting to look at while eating was right in front of our table.. so 'appetizing'
Anniversary lunch with SoSho at a Sichuan restaurant. The Lime soda was delish!
Sichuan vegetarian soup. Spicy just the way we like it! I wonder why I don't like the ones they make in Msia.
A cupcake with fresh (and definitely shweet) strawberries on the side.
Charlie's angels? I think Not!... :)
Something I bought at a very cool price. I am definitely going to miss the affordable cosmetic products here.. :(
A decorative item meant for our house.
This is how it looks like when you stick a picture there.

The things that I did or receive during my last few days here..the pictures are in no particular order.

Goodbye, Goodbye Flying Pumpkin, come again, come again..

Strike a pose! I love this picture.. :)
Tired, but happy us!
This is Tony's attempt in trying to get all of us in.

Charlie with his two angels. Where's other one?

Oh and that lil one, I think she's a gymnast. I don't know how she did that.

Wheeee.. Happy girls!

Hey, the happy man with his new ties.

You the MAN tony!

Happy people in the house!

Okay, I don't know why I still remember this song. And the funny thing is, I think the only ones who can relate or remember that verse are my elder sister and I. It's from some old tv series or something..I was what, 5? Aiyaiyai.. how time flies.

Back to my story. On Saturday, it was supposed to be a pre-CNY get together dinner with friends. We gathered at this cosy lil Indian restaurant called Guru’s. You see, SoSho has made friends with the owner of this place so we sort of got good rates for the whole dinner thing. The guys brought their own drinks, wine and champagne. Me? Mango lassi.. Though it didn't go down very well with me that night. I tell you, don't order lassi when you know you’ll be eating a lot..hehe..

The guys actually planned the dinner to be a farewell dinner for both Tony and I. How shweet these people are I tell ya. And they even bought me a very nice present… Wheeeehoooo! A heart shaped box of stuff from Crabtree & Evelyn. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Loves it!

Tony received two pairs of ties.. not out of this world but we hope he likes it..hehe.. Now all he has to do is just buy two more shirts to match the ties. Haha.. I like how a woman thinks.

After dinner we headed off to this karaoke place.. Red Box in Wan Chai. The place does not get any thumbs up from me. The list of songs were.errmm.. disappointing. Nevertheless, the crazy friends made up for the lack of song choice. We sang to our hearts’ content.

Thank you people! We shall meet again..

Next date : dinner with Miss M.

Tag and you're it!

I've been tagged by Shariz :) . Dan jawapannya adalah seperti berikut:

First time jumpa with ur hubby bila n kat mana?

Hmm..can't remember when exactly sebab we were in the same course, same Uni cuma in different classes. I knew more about him than just his name when we were the annual dinner committee, 2nd semester of our diploma course. Strictly as friends!

2. Love at first sight?
Nope! hehe..i dah cerita panjang lebar how we gotta know each other (the entry in conjunction with our 2nd wedding anniversary).

3. Who was he when the first time u meet him?
A stranger? hehe.. betulla, tak kenal pun sangat eventhough I knew he was taking the same course as I was.

4. How long did it take for him to ask u out on a date?
Errrrrrr.. I think we have to revise this question. How long did it take for me to ask him out on a date? Lamalah jugak sebab both of us were very different..he dated other girls, i dated other guys. Oh, and he is/was a shy person..hence, the revision of question above.

5. First dating place?
Hmm.. Guardian pharmacy Mahkota Parade ke (terpaksa la pergi as my excuse of going there was to buy Naz's cough syrup kan? Tak beli nanti buat malu je)? Tak ingat.. tapi yang i ingat, he woke up damn late! Grrr.. buat bengang je..memang suka tidur tau dia ni dari dulu sampai le sekarang..kekeke...

6. How did he propose?
OOOOO, this is a good one! I think he got all this whacky (but nice) ideas dari movies la..I mean, we already decided to get married, dah cari cincin merisik dah. Uncle pun dah kata ok. So one fine Saturday afternoon, he brought me to Italiannies (where our table had been nicely decorated with flowers la, candle la, card la)..and he proposed to me a la the western style (on bended knees i must say, the full package) ! haaaiii.. boleh tahan jugak anak bongsu kepada my parents in law ni..hehehe.. Pandai dia geng dengan manager restaurant tu to makes sure that everything was in place before we reached the place.

Cincin merisik tu pun ada kes. Will be storied-moried in a later date. Yang penting I ada 2 cincin merisik..hehe..ini kes orang tak reti apa-apa punya pasal.

7. Special Date with your hubby?
eh, tak boleh plural ke? it should be 14/2/2002 when we first got together. 31/1/2008 the day we got hitched. 2/2 - hehe..of course my birthday is an important date for the hubby.. betul tak?

8. Changes that he asked u to do?
For me to be more patient...hehe.. that is my ultimate weakness i must say.

9. What is it about him makes you love him so much?
Errr.. because he can withstand me? :)

10. What is it about him that u wish he would change?
Not much. he is getting more matured and very determined every single day :)

11. U will lose ur mind n crack ur head when he?
Aaaaaaaa... ini satu family tau..kekekeke...

12. U will smile through your eyes for the whole day when he?
When he sometimes make the most funniest (and naive) comment about something..

13. Complete this sentence.. 'My love towards my hubby is as big as..?
haaaa? boleh ke bagi analogy for this? I don't know.. I don't have an equipment to measure it by..hehee..

Who's next? Sape nak jawab silakan.. :)

With the best actor and actresses in Hong Kong..hehe..
Eek! My dress lable can be seen in here.. that thing keeps coming out, it is so stubborn!
By the way, why only ONE candle? I think only because they charge the candle per piece here..hehe..and why spoil the cake with too many candles no?

Again, the roses plus one thorn in action. Again, thank you all for the lovely lunch surprise and yummylicious cake!

Of bulging tummy and a happy (nearly surprised to death)me!

The culprits
Helen, Angela, Mich, Sonia, Pinky and Tony

The roles
Sonia – as the main coordinator. I’m guessing that she is the one who worked with the rest on this idea.

Tony – the one who should be keeping a surprise as a surprise, but always nearly blowing the cover.

Mich & Helen – the gals who went to buy the cake.

Pinky – another culprit playing her role in the small but sweet event.

The location
My favourite Thai restaurant at Soho – Cafe Siam.

How the culprits played their role.
Nobody wished me happy birthday in the morning. Everyone was busy doing their work.. Mich and Helen were busy packing stuff as they needed to move their workspace to a different location. Boo hoo hoo!

When it was lunchtime, Sonia went with me to get some lunch and she was leading me towards Soho. We ate so much the night before that I did not feel like eating so much today. Sonia wanted to bring me to this Indian restaurant where they offer cheap buffet or something. Mich and Helen were having their own lunch plan.. or so they said.

Sonia and I last-last masuk Cafe Siam. Ape kes? I smelled something funny already and I was so inquisitive asking why were we going into Cafe Siam when she said the Indian restaurant was cheaper?

The first person that I saw was Tony, followed by a big SURPRISE shout out by Angela and Pinky. When I said BIG, it was really big and loud. My jantung went over my head again (like what I felt when I was on the roller coaster ride). NOTE: I don’t recommend Angela’s surprise shout out to people aged 60 and above..haha..

All in all..on top of adding the much needed fat (what? I’ve gotta be kidding!) from eating the nice thai food and yummy chocolate cake, the small get together was a nice and pleasant surprise.

Hugs and kisses to all the sweet culprits! I will forever remember this birthday celebration.

All my life, I have never imagined that I would have the chance to travel, whatmore experiencing a birthday celebration in Hong Kong. Daddy if you’re still around, you’d be very proud of your 3 daughters. Eh? I should not be emotional on my birthday right? I should be happy! I am happy…eventhough I have a bulging tummy! Yikes!

Pictures will be posted soon. I just need to get it from Miss Helen. It was a surprise so I did not bring my SE phone with the better camera. Dang!

When Harry met Sally?

Whoopss..It should be how Syamsul Met Yana..that’s much better. How it all started? We did not actually bump into each other.. it's none of those love at first sight things. It’s definitely not like how people fall in love.. youknow, like in the movies. Letak phone number atas windscreen ke, pass note at the library to get to know each other ke.. none of these things. I wonder if people really experience this…hehe..

Ours was nothing out of the ordinary. It started from a normal friendship. Really, just a normal friendship of the typical ‘His and Byes’ when we were doing our diploma course. He was not my kind of guy.. and (I think) I was not his kind of girl.He dated other people.. I dated other people. Somehow we got closer during the final semester there where we often texted each other ( yeah, calling using our mobile phones were not cheap ok back then.. text message la murah sikit..hehe).

From thereon we went out together, still not calling it a relationship. And being the brave soul that I am, I was the one who asked him out first! (not on a date, more of going out to run some errands..I think my first excuse was that I needed to buy cough syrup for Naz yang batuk tak elok2...hey, that was true, cuma alasan nak keluar je tak berapa concrete :) ). Also we did balik KL and Melaka sama-sama.. FYI, he took the bus especially for me. :) Tapi tak selalu balik KL pun, sebab we started going out nearing the completion of our course. I remember the bus ride home, I asked Miss Naz if I can sit with Syamsul..hehe.. thank you for being okay to sit alone on the bus, jasamu dikenang Miss Naz. Who would’ve thought for such a small deed, your friends ended up getting married..betul tak?

It became a serious relationship in February 2002 (I think), our final diploma semester, siap bawak bunga lagi cik abang I ni. (Where did he learn all this?). And from thereon, we dated..went to pursue our degree in Shah Alam. Initially we were in different classes. Tak silap during the second year, we enrolled in the same class, macam mane pun tak ingat. We were in the same class in the last few semesters. Some lecturers knew about us, some maybe just could smell it..hehe.. takdela sampai nak duduk together saja. I think we rarely sat together in class and also I was never, or rarely in the same group projects as he.

We graduated, went on working and continued dating. The relationship evolved (macam evolve jadi mutant la pulak…), and we got hitched….. to each other that is! :) It was a mutual understanding that in 2008, we’d be married. And so we did.

To sum it all up, how we met and how we decided to be together is definitely not like in the rom-com, or romance novels.. It’s not out of this world. But I love it! And so, that is how Harry Met Sally/ Syamsul Met Yana…keh,keh,keh..

Hunny, happy anniversary and let’s pray for more happy happy anniversaries to come!

Two!

Yeay..hooray hooray! Today is the date when we said our 'I Dos'.. well okay, no we didn't. We don't do any of that I Do stuff. hehe.. Today is the date when he had cold sweat running down his face (okay, I am exaggerating) facing the tok qadi to do the akad nikah. Dengan sekali lafaz, witnessed by our family members and friends, we became husband and wife.

We're sort of celebrating our second anniversary in our own way. He went out with the guys, lepak lepak saja on Saturday night while I my friend here asked me out for lunch in celebration of my wedding anniversary. Sweet!

I hope for many more happy anniversaries to come.. Meanwhile, this is another song which we used to to walk down the aisle during our wedding reception. Hugs to my hunnybunch!!

p/s: thanks to Anuar Zain for making great love songs that will forever remind me of my wedding day! Hugs to you too! ( eh, can ah? ...hehe)

Mochaccino anyone?

I am a big fan of coffee. The blog title says it all. Never been a fan of mocha..probably because the Starb's mocha drinks are not to my liking. Neslo okay je, sedap je minum tapi when it comes to mocha drinks from the coffee places ni macam tak syok pulak.

I have been drinking lattes and cappuccinos, and too many cups for my own good if I can say so. Reason being we have this buy one get one free coupon from Pacific Coffee here. Most of the time my officemate/s are game for coffee..hehe..memang geng. All we need to do is just show the coupon (they just have to see it, they do not keep it for environmental purposes or probably if collect banyak2 dari customers buat menyemak saje..hehe) and we'll get one cuppa free.

Due to the high intake of lattes and cappuccinos the past few weeks.. I became so bored drinking them..nescafe 3 in 1 that I brought from Msia dulu dah abis. Then I just saw this thing called Mochaccino at Pacific Coffee.. gave it a try... and....

the love affair with Pacific Coffee's mochaccino begins!

Sedap gile!!! Why didn't I try this before? Dang.. I only have a few weeks left..have to stock up/drink up as much as I can. I also got my buddies who were here for a visit hooked on the drink too! Yummy yummy.. bulat lagilah tummy...hehehe... Definitely the perfect cup of coffee for me... wheeeeee...

game for some roller coaster ride?

Image: Travelpod.com
I overheard a few guys talking about the ride. They said it was nothing, they said it was just some kiddies ride compared to the rest. And we believed them, while trying our best to calm ourselves as we stepped closer to our 'kiddies' ride.

The place : Ocean Park Hong Kong
When : On a nice sunny (but cooling) Friday.
The culprit : Yune
The victim : Me ... Miss Sam found a nice spot for a glass of coke and popcorn while witnessing the two silly girls walking towards their doom.
The ride : The Mine Train

What we saw : Just a few loops so it was not supposed to be that bad.

What we experienced:
An out of body experience. My jantung went over my head for a few times. I could not scream due to the level of fright during the ride. ( well, at the same time thinking, 'what if my sunnies fall into the ocean?' (note : the ride was by the ledge and we can see the ocean as we scared ourselves shitless).

Was it worth it?
I seriously do not know. What I know is I shall never, ever go on those type of rides ever again! Happy to have done it but I would not have done so if not for Yune who suddenly added on to my scaredy-catness when she said.. I oso very scared now. What the hey? She was supposed to be the brave one.. apalaaaa!

Was it my first time riding a roller coaster?
Nope. I went to Genting a few years' back and I loved going on the Corkscrew..first time was super scary but I went on for another 2 times and was enjoyed the ride. Did not scream the 2nd and 3rd time.

What's the difference with this ride then?
Besides the fact that it is located at the ledge (the ocean is right down below it).. I guess I am just older now, therefore, I do not need all this heart pumping action thrill-a-majigy anymore. Phew!

I'm going home, to the place where I belong..

And so I've made it official. I have received the letter from the respective person in charge. I'm coming home hunny, and this time it is for good.
My monthly disposable income will be lower now, but heck, who cares... my heart is with him. I am happier now and the burden has been taken off of my chest. Lompat lompat kesukaan!!

Note: hehe..naz now you know :)

To the Peak and back!

This is proof that we walked up, all the way.

To take my mind of the challenging walk, I spent some time taking pictures:)

Once upon a Saturday evening, I received a text message asking, "Do you wanna hike up to the Peak tomorrow from Central?". And to this I answered, "Okay, I'm game." This came out without giving much thought of the challenge that lay ahead. I figured, okay it's going to be hard but I don't think it'll kill me.

Boy was I wrong! Miss SoSho were supposed to go with us as well, but I guess the bed was a better choice for her on a Sunday afternoon. And so off we go, the three of us from my apartment all the way up to The Peak. (we stopped by Park n Shop for some supplies..food supplies that is!..hahaha)

Within 15 minutes of the journey, I was already huffing and puffing. At this point we have not reached the pathway specifically to go up. We were just ON the way to the pathway..OMG! Mich kept asking, "are we nearing already?"

And so we kept on walking, and walking, and huffing and puffing.. (and me praying that I do not faint and go tumbling down). Every time I saw a bench ( they prepare benches along the way for people to rest) I felt like I just need to sit down and rest. But I know better not to do that, I know if I did, I would not be able to continue the walk.

After about an hour (with a-taking-our-own-time walking pace), we managed to reach the Peak. Was I happy! I could finally rest my sore feet. We had lunch at one of the restaurants there, Mich had spaghetti while I had seafood pizza. Yummy yummy! Yup, not planning to lose weight today, but hey, I had lots of fun!

All in all, it was a happy day for us. The weather was great, the company was the best :)

phew! what a night..

Miss M and me. Met her during our first day at the office. sweet, sweet girl she is. I am so chubby..muahaha..
These are the boys from my programme. The joker and James Bond in action :)
With my mentor. And yes, he came as one of the character in Harry Porter.
this is Michael Jackson. Don't have her picture when she was in her element. she's cool!
all the ladies in the house!
With the one but not only Audrey Hepburn.. she even made the ciggie holder (is that what it's called?) herself.

Getting me hair and make up done.
Checking out if I looked too white.

My head felt heavy the whole night (partly because of the big hairdo..haha). I was in the organising committee and we arranged the annual dinner with a hollywoodsy feel to it. The dinner was themed 'A Night with ING Stars'. I didn't manage to get a lot of pictures. But some people really went all out dressing up and stuff. Was really cool to see them.

There was 2 Mike Myers..good jokers they were! Talking about jokers, we also had 2 Heath Ledger version of the Joker. There was an Audrey Hepburn in the house, a minnie mouse (ni macam tak masuk sikit but don't tell her i said this). The funniest one would be Fred Flinstone and Barnie (eh macam mane spell his name?).. gosh, they crack us up. Super funny..and sexy may I add.

The coolest character that night was definitely my very very tall and pretty friend who came as MJ. And she even moved like him.. damn she was cool! She also won the best dressed (female category) award. Way to go, girl! And of course, there were so many James Bond that night..haha..the easiest character to put on I think. There were other great characters but I'm a bit lazy to write them all.

It was a long night no doubt.. ate good food, we played some cool games and then danced until the DJ had to close shop. Funny story, all the while I dealt with the deejay boleh tak tau he was born in KL. He is an Australian indian tapi he can speak Malay, eventhough he said he only knows a lil bit, but can faham lah. What a small world eh?
