These shoes are made for walkin'...

and that's just what they'll do. I think this is the second time that I've written the same title. Oh what the heck..

I know..lame! I saw these at Voir the other day and they had an offer of 20% discount if you buy 2 pairs of shoes. They didn't have the size for the shoes that Sis liked..but I managed to work my magic and Voila! Jumpa  pulak sizenya..so she got hers, and I got mine. It's basically 10% off for each pair..

I still need to break the shoes/wedges takut melecet (blisters) bila jalan banyak-banyak..so far so good. Wore them to walk around Subang Parade the other day..boleh tahan. This time I bought a size 6 instead of my norm size 5. Takut ketats!

If you like them you can get them at Voir at 20% discount (if you buy 2 pairs at the same time).

Introducing the newest member of the family :) I hope you will have a long prosperous life with us..hehe :) Don't bite me ok!

Easy peasy trifle peachy. A dessert in just 10 minutes..or less

Again with the food entry! I can't help it..i just have to do it. This easy recipe for dessert, I got it from watching the Nigella Express show. It's as easy as 1,2,3.

You need:

1. sponge cake..swiss roll pun boleh. I used the tiramisu biscuits (ladyfingers). To soften the biscuits, I spoon some of the peach's syrup onto the biscuits.
2. Whipping cream - about 250ml
3. castor sugar - to taste. This is because some people like it sweet. I made mine less sweet because I know the peaches were already in the sugar syrup.
3. vanilla essence
4. fruits. Fresh fruits like kiwi, strawberries, blueberries..it's all up to you. I just used the canned peaches since I didn't know when I will make the dessert. If beli fresh fruits kalau tak buat nanti busuk pulak.

1. cut a sponge cake (any flavour that you like) into thin slices. Arrange the cake/biscuits on the plate however you like.
2. Whipped the whipping cream. Begin with the slow mode before increasing the speed. Add the castor sugar (to taste) about 3-5 minutes after that. Add a teaspoon of vanilla essence as well. If you want it sweet, you can add more sugar.
3. Once the cream is ready (it sticks to your mixer thingy..)..
4. Spoon the cream onto the plate of cake/biscuits and finish it up by arranging the fruits on top of the cream. You can add walnuts or toasted almonds (or anykind of nuts) if you like.
5.Refrigerate before serving.

What you need..

Whip the cream and add sugar to taste.

Voila. Simplest dessert ever. Glad I watched that Nigella programme :)

Ready to eat!

cintacoffee.blogspot is now dianatza.blogspot

Changed the name of the blog for no reason. Did not realise that my reading list all disappeared once I saved to the new name. Silly me. Well a lesson learned every day, no matter how small it is. Had to redo a few things..or perhaps I was the one who didn't know how best to do the changes without things going missing.

Anyhow, this is going to be a short one. Changed the blog name...still in love with coffee no matter what. :) Toodles!

Island BBQ and Steamboat at RM21.90 per pax, Kampung Melayu Subang

I think this is turning into a food diary. Asyik pasal makanannnnn je.oh well..
Got to know about this place through the Denai Alam page on FB..punyala dekat tempat makan ni with our house but we have been procrastinating from going to this place for no obvious reason..maybe asyik terlupa pasal tempat ni.

Anyhow, last Friday we decided to give this place a try. From Guthrie Corridor Expressway (from Shah Alam) take the junction to the left into Kampung Melayu Subang/Kota Damansara. At the traffic light turn right and go straight until you can see Fella Design to your left. Keep left and take the junction to go to Kota Damansara/Kg Melayu Subang. But be careful, there are 2 junctions close to each other, satu masuk Fella Design satu lagi yang sebetulnya. Tapi kalau dah termasuk Fella Design tu boleh keluar balik, no biggie.

Then after taking the junction to the left, go straight until you see Petronas (be careful as you will be inching into the main road with cars coming from your right side). Petronas will be on your left side. Go straight until you reach the first traffic light after Petronas. At the traffic light, turn left. Go straight into the small lane (kawasan perumahan tanah lot)..teruskan aje masuk ke dalam until you see Island BBQ and Steamboat on your right. Ade a bit of kawasan parking for visitors so masa tak ramai orang, it would be easy to park.

I was quite surprised to see the selection of food they have. Memang banyak la..from daging, sotong, udang to bebola untuk steamboat. The vegetables were fresh too! Ada macam-macam mee kering (the ones that you can put into the steamboat jadikan mee sup ke ape tu). That night they also serve nasi goreng..nasi goreng pun sedap. :) I think dia memang serve nasi untuk orang-orang yang memang kena makan nasi.

You can choose either tom yam or chicken soup. We took chicken soup. Coffee and tea pun ada! I was really happy to see coffee there..yums! Dessert pun ada! haha..memang macam overexcited tengok ada dessert.

You can give it a try if you want.

RM21.90 per person/adults and
RM9.90 for kids 6-12 years old (under 6 y.o can eat for free)

Operation hours - 6.30pm to 11pm
Sayuran, bebola ikan and other stuff, bermacam jenis mee/mihun

Mr Foodie posing with the wide range of food

Start small. Ambik sikit-sikit walaupun buffet tak elok membazir. They also have a rule kalau makanan tak  habis lebih dari xx gram akan dicharge. I cannot remember the exact rule though.

Kita bakarkan udang-udang itu. Minyak tu pun  ada kat buffet area so boleh ambik sendiri. Cicah-cicah dia pun ada.

This is how the place looks like at night

Ample space for friends and family to meet and makan-makan :)

Dont know if the dessert changes everyday but I LOVE THIS! Bubur kacang campur tepung  pulut yang diuli kecik-kecik. I think it is tepun pulut..yang macam onde-onde tapi takde isi. Very-very yummy!
They also serve ice cream tapi flavour kita tak boleh choose kot. they serve whatever they have. You can ask for it from them.

Terracotta warriors jadi pak guard?

Look who I bumped into when I sent my car for its routine checkup? This pic was taken at one of the factories/offices near the Perodua Service Centre at Seksyen 15. I don't know what factory it was, could not see any signages but I guess the business owner thinks it is better to put these terracotta warriors at the entrance than hire the normal security guards. Extreme cost cutting measures? Maybe. :)

A snippet of info taken from Wikipedia on terracotta warriors:
The Terracotta Army or the "Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses", is a collection of terracottasculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form offunerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife, and to make sure that he had people to rule over. A common misconception was that the such said "Army" wasn't just full of soldiers- there were entertainers, and their purpose was to entertain the emperor.

I just copied a bit. Way too long to have them all placed in here.

Come rain or shine..we will jaga this place with all our might!

Sand, Sea and Seafood...Bagan Lalang

FINALLY, we made our way to Bagan Lalang after putting it off for so long.  With the use of hubs' GPS we reached Bagan Lalang at 6.40pm..about 1 hour 15 minutes from Shah Alam. I think if we did not have the GPS mungkin susah sikit nak jumpa the place for the lack of signages along the way.  Rasanya memang tak nampak sangat.  The journey was okay except when we reached Sepang area towards BL tu, it is kawasan kampung (reminds me of my kampung) where you  know that it will be very sunyi once the sun's down.

Before we started our makan-makan, we took some pictures by the beach. Banyak betul baby ketams in the sandy beach that I felt a bit geli-geli, afraid they will crawl up my feet. lol .Could also see the famous Golden Palms Resort..woowoo..but for more than RM1k a night, that's probably not something that we can spend on for now :p

Then we headed to HM Seafood..there were other restaurants there but I've googled on which spot to go to and most went to HM Seafood ni. By the way, just a word of caution, sini banyak kera..i think they are called kera, ke monyet? Anyhow, they were a bit too hyper and if you want to take pictures by the beach, make sure you park further away from the group of cheeky keras.

I told hubs not too over order because we did not want to end up bloated, and also because he was suppose to hike up Bukit Broga with his friends the next morning. We only ordered crabs 2 ekor, lala and ikan pari. No tomyams, no soupy stuff, no veggies..sebab nanti for sure tak habis.

My verdict? Bolehla..maybe ada style masakan lala dia yang lagi sedap than the one we ordered. The crabs were extremely sweet and fresh..memang my fave! The pari bakar pun sedap.

1. teh o
2. teh o limau (too sour that he ordered another drink)
3. fresh orange
4. ketam 2 ekor
5. lala for 2 persons
6. ikan pari bakar
7. nasi putih for 2 persons

Cost us RM60.20 if I'm not mistaken. Price is reasonable if I can say so.
We drove back around 8.30pm..masa ni balik pun takut-takut sikit sebab the path we went through ada yang tak berlampu and sunyi. Next round kalau pergi kena overnight kot.

Scenery at the Bagan Lalang beach...

Can you see the Golden Palms resort there? Ooh La La!

Hubs the paparazzi

Must have own pics :)

Borrowed his slippers because I only had my wedges with me..besarnya kaki dia.

Romantic scene...

Rumah ketam-ketaman.. hehe

Paparazzi in action some more..

This is right next to the resto. I wonder if the nelayan bawak balik fresh yields and give them straight to the resto?

Romantic scene 2 taken from the resto

Ubi pedas as pembuka selera/appetizer..sedap gile!

Paling tak clear..gambar makanan..mwhaha..all gone within 30 minutes?

When the shoes are comfy...

you just have to buy more than 1.  Bought these shoes (are they called platforms or wedges?hmm) from Vincci at RM59. I bought the black pair a few months back with 10% discount. They are just too comfy that I can even go shopwalking at 1Utama from morning till late afternoon. Then I decided that I just need to get another pair since it is always so hard to find good and comfy shoes. I can't wear heels nowadays..so I reckon kalau ada yang dah tau comfy baik beli banyakkkk banyakkkk. The good thing about these shoes is that they have rubber layer so when you walk InsyaAllah tak jatuh kat lantai jenic licin. Something that always happen to me..gagaga.. Thinking of buying another black pair for backup..in case yang hitam sekarang ni rosak nanti dah takde kasut yang comfy lagi :( Takut Vincci dah tak jual lepas ni...oh decisions, decisions. Lol..macam masalah dunia je.. :p

Rack/Organiser from Ikea at RM149 (if I'm not mistaken..can't remember). You can also use  this to store clothes or stuff at home that needs to be hidden/organised. For me, I use this to keep our shoes. :)

Voila! My all time fave for now. Simple and comfy :) Maybe I should get another extra pair..just in case.

Fig and Olive, Sunway Pyramid

Last Sunday I went for a sisters' day out with lil sis. Since both of us didn't have breakfast we decided to have an early lunch..brunch that is.I though of just having some roti bakar with coffee first and maybe have lunch a little later. Pyramid is way too big now and they have many kopitiams..Papparich, Georgetown White Coffee and some other place. We went in all 3 tapi tak jadi beli apa-apa. Most kopitiams are more or less the same nowadays..kalau ada Uncle Lim's for sure dah masuk dah. Papparich tak berapa minat sangat after I tried it twice at Sek 13 here. I find the price is a tad expensive but tastewise a bit on the downside. The drinks are yummy but nasi lemak memang fail.

So anyway, jalan punya jalan..we initially wanted to eat at Chicken Rice Shop (I'm quite a fan of this joint) and then changed our minds when we saw this resto called Fig and Olive. Lil sis said she tried the place (she had spaghetti of some sort) before and was quite all right. I was all into the new place sebab nampak macam best.

There was a whole array of food and of course all of  them had some form of olive in them..they had lamb something, chicken with rice, seafood platter which looked oh-so-yummy and the list goes on!..but we only ordered 2 mugs of cafe latte at RM5.50 each and a starter (something like triplePlay at Chilis) priced at RM28.90. The starter had brushchettas, baguette with chicken ham slices and cheese, chicken drummets, fish fingers (fresh and no fishy taste) and coleslaw served with mayo and lemon.

One thing that sort of gave me a scary feeling that the place was going to be no good was when I saw the lady making the lattes, threw away one that she had prepared and did a new one. Bad sign..bad sign. Mesti tak sedap latte dia..the lattes came, looked so-so tapi the taste was ok.

Verdict : so-so. Maybe the mains would be better because they all looked so yummy in the menu so can give it a second try.

If you want to give it a try, it's located at the opposite of Chicken Rice Shop, same row as Georgetown White Coffee if I'm not mistaken. Can't remember which floor though.
Clockwise: coleslaw, brushchetta (lazy to google correct spelling..baguette and tomatoes),  baguette topped with chicken ham and cheese,  chicken drummet, fish fingers.

Spaghetti aglio olio with prawns and veggies

Yeah...me in the kitchen? Memang amazing..but I have to say I have grown leaps and bounds over the past few months. Budak baru belajar la katakan. I have learned how to make curry walaupun kadang-kadang I felt like there was something off with the taste..masak lemak cili api pun is so-so. For now, I have to abstain from cooking things with santan..less santan, more veggies.

Hubs likes to eat the aglio olio style spaghetti and since he can't eat food with chilli for the time being, jadi terpaksalah masak kurang or no chilli for now. As for me I love babycorns..love it because they are so sweet and nice to eat :) So campak nearly every single sayur that I find in the fridge..Also it's a good menu whenever I am lazy to cook up a storm (storm sangat ke?).

Of course you need the main ingredient - spaghetti :). A dash of EVOO to avoid the spaghetti from sticking together and a good pinch of salt for flavouring.

Diced onions, garlic, capsicum (for the colour and a bit of flavour), prawns, snowpeas, babycorn, diced potatoes, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO made famous by Rachel Ray) and pepper. Bough the pepper grinder from Aino Living at Empire for RM9.90. Cute eh?

The final output. I combined EVOO with normal cooking oil sebab I don't quite like the taste of EVOO. Tapi bila makan kat luar takde pulak bau and rasa olive tu kuat sangat. Anyone can recommend a good brand of EVOO? The snowpeas are really crunchy and sweet..yumms..
