I went to the labour room at University Malaya Specialist Centre on Monday morning without realising that the doctor would want me to deliver the baby that very day. After having some sandwiches for breakfast (padahal it was Ramadhan..hehe..well, I gotta have some energy uknow), the doctor recommended to induce me (don't know how to use the term correctly in a sentence.. :) ) because the blood pressure was high and my feet were so very swollen at that time.
They induced me from 9am via the iv thing..and i started feeling the excruciating contractions from 11am. Asked for an epidural at around 1pm which the doctor asked to give it 2 more hours to see the development of the opening. Asked for the epi again at 4pm to which the doctor again said to give it 2 more hours to see if the opening is good enough to start pushing. GRRRR!!! tipu tau doctor ni, saje taknak bagi epidural (but then again I don't regret not taking it..)
The laughing gas.. i tell you, it didn't make me laugh...AT ALL! it didn't relieve the pain not even one bit. Ke gas tank tu rosak? I just didn't feel the effect of the gas at all... all I could remember was the non-stop pain.
Well, after 9.5 hours of labour pain...out came the baby girl (had to use the vaccuum coz I just could not push her head out). I lost quite a bit of blood in the process and even heard the doctor spoke to the nurses..they sounded worried at that time. they even called out my name a few times because i think i nearly passed out.
All in all....everything was so surreal. Can't believe that we have her now.. in our arms. Her aunties love her so much..asyik je nak kacau cium cium. Just that our baby likes to cry a lot (which they say is totally like me when i was a baby) and farter! Her fart mengalahkan orang besar.. malu mummy :p
In total, normal delivery with 2 days 1 night stay at UMSC, plus paeditrician's charges for the baby, the bill came up to RM3800. Alhamdulillah, all is covered by the company.
Baby's name
After thinking it over and over and over again between Adelea Nur and Lana Adelea..we chose to name her LANA ADELEA. Mummy and daddy and the whole family love you loads baby.. we pray that you will always be a healthy and happy baby. Muah muah..
